SAMBT is looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience in oversight to join our vibrant team in the role of monitoring and evaluation as well as supervision of training. This is a full-time position.
Key areas of responsibility:
Monitoring and Evaluation
Review all client and training data on a regular basis, in order to:
Assure quality of training
Identify any gaps in the training.
Make recommendations to enhance the efficiency of training.
Practitioner Supervision and Support
Includes but not limited to:
Weekly telephonic contact with Practitioners.
Regular field visits.
Responding to any technical queries raised by Practitioners.
Continuing Professional Development
Create and promote an environment for continuous improvement through:
Dissemination of information to the O&M Practitioners
Identification of ‘gaps’ in training and ensuring that these are addressed through appropriate further development, like workshops, discussion groups, lectures etc.
Report Writing
Write monthly and final reports of all training, to provide:
Feedback to the Practitioner.
Information and feedback to SAMBT Management with regard to the outcomes of each training programme as well as each individual person trained.
Information to donors on the progress and outcomes of all training.
Administration
Includes but is not limited to:
Capture and analysis of all training data.
Assistance with programme planning and set-up
Network with clinics, hospitals, community members, other organizations etc.
Key characteristics and competencies:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Willingness to undertake additional courses related to Orientation and Mobility.
Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision.
Demonstrates honesty and integrity.
Team player with the ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
Passionate about advocacy and creating impact in the blindness sector.
Capable of conducting independent field trips nationally.
Excellent networking abilities.
Valid drivers licence and good driving record.
Qualifications
B.Sc. Occupational Therapy or similar degree in the allied health sciences.
