Eyes Wide Shut: Laughs, and Learning!

Twice a year our whole team gets together  for some days of learning, meeting and connecting.

This week, our learning focus was on working with children who are blind or partially sighted. The workshop was presented Elza Veldsman, and we thank her for sharing her deep knowledge, passion and experience in developing independence skills in children with visual impairment.

We all had fun, working in twos to set an obstacle course covering four different gross motor activities, and fine motor skills, which we then had to complete under blindfold. After the fun activities, we all sat down to evaluate our learning, based both on our personal experiences playing Elza’s games under blindfold and including our joint experiences from our own training blind children at schools.
